The Hassan Tower is one of the most important monuments in Morocco. Located in the capital of the country, Rabat, this monument is the minaret of a mosque built in 1196 and unfinished. 44 meters high, this Tower of Arab-Andalusian style represents the project of Sultan Yacoub El Mansour (of the Almohad dynasty) who then wanted to build the largest mosque in the world (at the time).
The mosque was never finished but more than eight centuries later, the Hassan Tower remains. The beauty of the place is undeniable. The location of Hassan Tower was also chosen to raise the Mohammed V mausoleum.
