From prehistory to Islamic times


After a series of archaeological excavations (started in 1915), it was decided to gather the found objects in a single building. This is how the Museum of History and Civilizations of Rabat was born. There are all kinds of objects and remains, such as an axe dating from prehistory, statuettes, column bases, and vases from Roman antiquity or engravings and daggers from the time of the Islamic conquest. With a very large collection of objects, the museum is organized chronologically.
The Museum of History and Civilizations of Rabat is located at 23 Brihi street. It is open every day (except Tuesday) from 10 am to 6 pm and it takes 20 MAD for an entrance ticket (10 MAD for young people from 15 to 18 years old or 5 MAD for children under 14 years old).
