From prehistory to the Islamic era

After a series of archaeological excavations (begun in 1915), it was decided to bring together the objects found in a single building. This is how the Museum of History and Civilizations in Rabat came into being. It houses all kinds of objects and artifacts, such as a prehistoric axe, statuettes, column bases and vases from Roman antiquity, and engravings and daggers from the Islamic conquest. With a very large collection of objects, the museum is organized chronologically.

The Museum of History and Civilizations in Rabat is located at 23 Rue Brihi. It is open every day (except Tuesday) from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and admission is 20 dirhams (10 dirhams for young people aged 15 to 18 and 5 dirhams for children under 14).
