What to do in Rabat?

When you visit an imperial city, the first thing you want to do is visiting its Medina. The first thing you will notice is that this one is different from other Medinas, the reason behind it is the fact that it was built by Muslims that came from Andalusia region located in Spain. The Medina proposes a decent amount of entertainment as it contain a traditional souk, a wonderful fountain, and the Jewish district frequently called the Mellah. Another place to not miss is Hassan tower. Initially, this construction was supposed to be a mosque with a huge tower, but unfortunately the project was cancelled after the death of the former Moroccan ruler Yaqoub Al-Mansour who was the one who gave the orders to build that mosque. Due to the revoke of the project, Hassan tower became a touristic spot, for exploring ruins and taking pictures, that hosts many visitors every year. Near the Hassan Tower you will find the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, the place where the tomb of the former king resides with his two sons. Next on the list is The Kasbah of Oudayas. This tiny blue and white city was once a fortified military camp built in the 12th century, but now it looks more like a Medina where you can get lost the silence of its calm streets and also buy some traditional goods, in addition, outside the Kasbah you can go on a short boat ride along the Bou Regreg river. If exploring mysterious artifacts seems like a good idea to you, then head to the Museum of History and Civilization. Previously known as the Archaeological Museum, this place contains a rich collection of old relics from prehistoric to Islamic times that will definitely satisfy your curiosity. another option to consider is going driving around 13 kilometers to the north of Rabat to visit an exotic garden, a wonderful natural place created by the horticulturist Marcel Francois. This place full of plants from sub-Saharan Africa, Asia, and South America will guarantee you a peaceful experience. On the other hand, if you’re not into nature, then beach is the best location for you. Luckily, there is a delightful beach in Skhirat, a city 30 mins away from Rabat, that will make you relax and forget all your worries.
