Henna p1

Morocco is a kingdom rich in customs and traditions. Among these, henna tattoos are unmissable. Practiced only by women, henna tattoos (temporary) are still very common, even in a modernizing Morocco.

Usually done the day before important events (such as a wedding or baptism), henna tattoos are believed to promote “baraka,” or abundance of all that is good, or in other words, good luck. They also play an aesthetic role, and some women tattoo their hands and feet with henna solely for the purpose of beautifying themselves—without any special occasion.

If you would like to try this Moroccan tradition during your stay in the country, you can easily find a hennaya or negafa who will do your henna tattoos.

A little tip from your car rental agency in Morocco: Rent a city car to get a henna tattoo during your trip to Morocco.
